The clouds that gather over water tell a great deal about what is to come. When we are in the city, we often don't pay attention to what those clues are but if one is out on the water, a changing cloudscape and/or a changing sea is not to be ignored.
This painting is done by using oilsticks on mylar and I do not use brushes in these paintings. Rather, I apply the paint thickly to the surface and then start to massage the paint into the surface using paper towels or a soft cloth. Oil slips around on the mylar surface like butter in a frying pan, and the process is very satisfying.
