With a motivation of starting a family and facing 85% risk of loss, the artist gained and kept tight control of challenges causing her infertility. The process of testing her blood ten times per day to maintain a healthful pregnancy presented a binding limitation, but also a scaffold on which to build. Almost a years worth of glucometer strips were tested, sealed, and chain-mailled together to form a fabric-like medium. Using a medium that is simultaneously beguiling and repulsive, the work explores the beauty of the feminine, while utilizing a medium that is simultaneously supportive and restrictive.
