The Girl and The Mountain
- 37 x 47 in
- Liliana Bilbao-Aliaga
Handwritten note on the back says: "Wednesday, November 15, 1989, "The girl and the Mountain," This is a very special piece for me. As an artist I am happy to go out, show, and sell my work. But this is my first painting related to my country that I sell. I feel like giving away my own child, and I feel at the same time that this child is part of my continuity, part of myself which will stay forever in the land I lived for some years and I learned to love as my own. This girl will speak for me and for my people, in some ways, to those who want to "listen." The Girl's name is Tomaza and the Mountain's name is HUAYNA POTOSI"
