Artist description:

This series of watercolor and ink illustrations were done by me back in the 1990s when I lived in Kayenta , AZ.
The local school district commissioned me to do a set of drawings without words that young students can build their own narrative around the images. These are all the visions from the works they (we) live in on the sprawling Dineh’ (formerly Navajo) land from which they are learning culture, art and sharing of such.

This was wonderfully received and other districts wanted similar books. This was one of two sets of illustrations for them, the other was on the Bus Ride.
