In the months of Covid, time has reconfigured and morphed. There is a tension between the now and the not yet. As I personally get further from the trappings and chaos of society and busy-ness, I have become more tuned in to nature, watching daily miracles in my garden and becoming familiar with both flying and furry visitors.
I hear of animals returning to places they once were banished, roaming without fear on the streets and rivers. It’s an unexpected joy (albeit crazy-making) to be forced to wait, look, and listen. Although we sit in great anticipation for a renewed and better future, we are forced to be fully IN the present; heaven is here on earth, intertwined with all living things, waiting for us to notice.
