"The Idealist / INFP" is an invitation to meditate. The flower stems are flanked by impasto leaves, a full quarter inch of thick paint. The individual components are simplified as if they were cut fabric prepared for a quilt. Two fresh blossoms sprout from the plant with applications of paint that seem to shift from planned, tape-stenciled quadrants, to areas that are freely brushed or thickly daubed. Impossibly, there is a shelf painted within the flower’s pot, containing its own still-life of objects.
