Ned II (Teddy Bear)
- Tempera, watercolor, graphite
- 9 x 7.75 in
- Beth Van Hoesen
Beth van Hoesen, Ned II, 1997, watercolor and graphite, 9 x 7.75 inches, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, West. Donated by the Adams and Van-Hoesen Adams Trust. Small painting of a bear wearing a red sweater.
Beth van Hoesen's husband, artist Mark Adams reflects: "I had some kind of a sock doll when I was a kid, so he's my first teddy bear, and recent at that. Beth has a bevy of bears and asked, 'Which one would you like?' I said, 'Him!' and she asked, 'What's his name?' and I said, 'Ned!' He's just a swell fellow, and of course he's very fashion conscious. The best thing is that he never answers back, which in this day and age is a blessing."
