Pegan Brooke, Flood, 1982, oil pastel on paper, 32 x 23 inches, Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, Executive Suite at 700 Welch. Donated by the Mary Patricia Pence Revocable Trust. Called "Flood," this artwork is one of many artworks by Pegan Brooke inspired by water. In the artist's own words: "My paintings are inspired by the experiences of sustained reflection upon the Aven River in Point Aven, France, the Pacific Ocean near my home in Bolinas, CA, and the snow and river in Ketchum, Idaho…The visual phenomena is a perfect natural metaphor for the ever-changing flux in which we make our lives.”
