This abstraction is of a landscape based on a page of the Melways, of the area immediately surrounding my home. The coloured blocks are residential areas, the vertical and horizontal lines are streets, the red oval shapes are representations of a racecourse.

To achieve the texture I used painting knives, first applying an undercoat and mixing the paint on the canvas. I selected subdued colours for the background and bright red for the ovals to create depth.
