Lunar Australis

While contemplating the theme of the St Michaels' Exhibition, Place and Space, I cam across some of the ionic photographs of the Apollo missions of the late 1960's and early 1970's. A photograph taken in 1971 on the moon's surface shows the Lunar Lander, Lunar Rover and an astronaut saluting the American flag. The act of planting a flag in Western society somehow implies ownership, an alien takeover - similar to Cook at Possession Island in Australia, almost precisely 200 years before. It lead me to wonder what if Australia got there first?
