Door Vicars Foote Hall
- Spray paint on metal door
- Liam Poole
In 2014 Vicar's Foote Hall; the school's main assembly hall, home of the Lucas Theatre, the Chapel and cafeteria, was demolished to make way for The Gipson Commons.
Liam Poole, studying year 12 Studio Arts Mixed Media, was in need of a wall to place his graffiti piece on as part of the process for his final artwork. Liam's aim was to strategically place canvasses on the walls of Vicar's Foote Hall and then create his graffiti piece in order to capture elements of the larger piece.
Four weeks out from demolition, Liam began to lay down colours and develop his piece. During the course of his creation, the growing piece of graffiti captured the interest of all those passing by.
Within two weeks of completion, demolition began. All that remained of Vicars Foote Hall and Liam's original piece is the side door, which is what you see displayed here.
