ABOUT THIS PRINT
Lorraine Alba was a fellow artist (fiber artist) at the Visual Arts Center of Alaska, Anchorage. In the artist's warehouse studio, Lorraine sat for portrait drawing, the source image for this etching image.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Hard ground etching followed by aquatint. Various black & white and color proofs were printed at the artist's warehouse studio. The image was never fully resolved and was never editioned. Three plates:
1st plate: black ink only. Line etching and aquatint.
2nd plate: color ink, aquatint and drypoint, red-purple ink.
3rd plate: color ink, aquatint and yellow ochres ink or green.
