Alaska artist and good friend Fred Anderson reading some unknown publication. Fred is a sculptor and does a lot of drawings, and is credited with reviving Aleut mask-making. In the late 1970's, he served as Director of the Visual Arts Center of Alaska and Manager of the Sculpture Studio. He lives in Naknek, Alaska. During the Vietnam war, Fred was a sailor in the US Navy and served aboard an aircraft carrier. He remains one of Spence's most important Alaska friends and unforgettable people, at time of SG inventory in 2025.
