“The subject, Regina Brunz, emigrated to the United States from Ukraine when she was a high school junior. This portrait was done when she was a college junior at the University of Sioux Falls. Much of my inspiration is derived from the classical imagery of the Old Masters. I aspire to create that timeless quality in my own paintings. I want my work to capture the simple transcendent beauty of what is experienced day to day.”

Driven by innate curiosity and love of discovery, Anna Youngers uses her brushes and canvas to investigate a deeper understanding of the natural world. Anna began her professional training early in life when at the age of 16 she undertook a four-year classical apprenticeship at Pantura Studios. She credits her classical atelier training with providing her a foundation in draftsmanship and the technical craft of oil painting. Her working methods continue to evolve but remain rooted in the classical tradition.
