Many of you ask about my process of constructing on of my paintings. In this post I want to show you a little glimpse behind the scenes.
Here is my big secret: I tackle paintings in bulk.
Because I am primarily an abstract painter, I tend to work intuitively. I begin by making marks and lines in pencil using my less dominate hand or blind folded, as it frees up some of my initial rigidness. I will work between many pieces as a time adding a line or a mark here and there.
I’m inspired by playing with colors and especially love mixing them to unexpected results, putting layers of transparent and opaque paint over each other and letting that determine how the rest of the work will evolve.
