A rather interesting collection of technical essays, diagrams, and analyses by the shipbuilding elite. Printed only one month before Titanic's sinking, this tome gives a unique insight into professional commercial shipbuilding at the time.
Of special interest is an essay by Axel Welin, whose Welin Davits would play a key role in the story of Titanic's sinking only one month later. In it Mr. Welin discusses the arrangement of lifeboats onboard liners and troop ships, advocating for double rows of boats - a recommendation disregarded by Harland & Wolff in constructing the Olympic and Titanic.
