Title: 'Love Garden/ Was It The Moon, Or The Sake? Thong Lo District, Sukumvit Soi 55, Bangkok, Thailand'
One night in Bangkok. In the predominantly Japanese district of Thong Lo, a beautiful moon. Sushi. Sake. The Japanese salarymen, with their broken English, warming up to us "gaijin" after we bought the first round of Sapporo and Hakkaisan.
We were best friends by the third round.
'Love Garden/ Was It The Moon Or The Sake?' is featured in this unique Portfolio of original small mixed-media paintings produced in the studio since late September, early October 2017.
The 'Love Garden' Fall 2017 collection is an exercise in graphic composition, balance and color relations, flatness and depth, with fluid florals and birds as symbolic metaphysical subjects and metaphors for the environment, for our human interactions and our relations with each other.
Titles and narrative and aesthetics are drawn from my travels through Europe, Morocco, Southeast Asia and Brazil. All works featured are available for purchase.
