From the artist:
"This quilt is part of a series of 12 art pieces created from photos of my extensive collection of salt and pepper shakers. I used slides projected onto paper to make the drawings (which were used as patterns to cut the fabric) and then machine appliqued the fabric pieces onto canvas. I also added imagery from my imagination to the final image.
This quilt was included in one of the books published by the Quilt Digest Press in the mid-eighties and was part of a one-person exhibit at the DeSaisset Museum at Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA in 1981."
