Silk throw front and back in dark brown and tan small check fabric, edged in dark brown binding. Quilting design of interlocking cable borders run around a center of many clam/scallop shapes done in a traditional quilting style with dark silk thread. Very badly frayed in the center, but useful as a teaching tool to see the quilting designs used by the Quakers and their lovely even needlework. Lucy bought the quilt from a local dealer who had acquired the quilt in Maryland.

Techniques: Hand quilted
Culture: American
Geographic Location: North and Central America, United States
Credit Line: Gift of Rosemary Mucklow, The Lucy Hilty Collection
