The quilt background was made by the artist's grandmother as a utility quilt. It is denim and hand quilted. The white flag stripes are women's gloves and the red “stars” are pincushions.

Using found objects, ephemera, and the mundane artifacts of life, I create art works that evoke a sense of who we are and how we have lived. By transforming forgotten castoffs into purposeful imagery, and connecting disparate elements to make new realities, viewers are asked to see things in a new way, and connect with their own personal memories.
