The áo dài is a Vietnamese national garment, worn by both sexes but now most commonly worn by women. In its current form, it is a long, split tunic dress worn over trousers. Áo translates as shirt. Dài means "long". This piece was created by a ao dai designer Le Si Hoang as a fusion of cultures, intergrading Chinese, French, and American influences. The ao dai retains its unique Vietnamese heritage.
