This is a small quilt in the Amish style. This design uses the same colors, but is quilted on cotton. The design itself is very different. It is centered around the red fly foot symbol similar to a pinwheel set in colorful rectangles. Both the symbol and the color red were considered by the Amish to bring good luck. The six red fly feet are bordered by red and green rectangles quilted with unending cables to frame the moving fly foot design. The cables do not end at the top of the quilt edge: in a traditional Amish quilt design. The next rectangle is in black with a simple crisscross stitch lines that offer the push pull focus that Lucy wanted building a quilting pattern. The quilt is bordered by a hand sewn red material binding that serves to frame the design.
