David Alan Sincavage is a Floridian, born in Miami. He traces his artistic talent back to his early childhood, but it was a four-year stay on the island of Crete, Greece, that convinced him to pursue his talents as an artist.
David has been working in the visual arts for over 30 years and has experimented with many forms of expressive media such as photography, clay, wood, wire, found objects, and glass.
He paints using oils, acrylics, and watercolors. His watercolor interpretations of Sea Shells, and his conceptual Nautilus Series, done in oil on canvas are quite remarkable. The Sea Shells were commissioned for The Breakers Hotel, Palm Beach, Florida, and are displayed on the hotel property.
The Nautilus Series and many of his Mixed Media and Acrylic works have been quickly picked up by Private Collectors of Palm Beach.
David enjoys working in Pen & Ink and Graphite and has completed a conceptual suite called "The Dark Hope Series". It is a striking collection of over 20 pieces rendered in Ebony. Two of these pieces were among those on view at the Boca Raton Museum of Arts, in Boca Raton, Florida, and several others were shown in New York City.
David's 10-foot Gibson Guitar, which was auctioned off for charity, is on permanent display in the main lobby at the new, guitar shaped Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
His contemporary interpretations of personal and social issues is often a mix of intense engagement, and provocative concepts. He enjoys the interaction of he viewer with his works as he believes that, through the arts, the world will become a more peaceful and tolerant place.
David signs his work, D’Alan.
"The world is not really a world without the artists."
