This painting is part of my series 'just keep on going'.
Like many of us, I had rather unconsciously placed many hopes in the new year of the pandemic. When it started as sluggishly and without perspective as the last one had ended, my mood was dampened. Otherwise, I rarely reach for red, but suddenly the red tones spoke to me. Perhaps I hoped to take on some of the vitality and energy of red. A series of pictures in red tones was created, the strength of the red softened by beige hues.
This picture lives from the contrast of the lively, orange gestures in the lower part of the picture and the calm, evenly structured upper part as a counter-pole.
It is made with acrylics, rock flour, pigments on raw canvas.
The painting is not framed. It is signed, wired and ready to hang.
