A first-time visit to New Mexiko this summer felt very inspiring. The days in a small adobe house in the middle of the half dessert left a strong impression. Warm sun, barren soil, sparse vegetation, deep starry night, the awesome calm only disturbed by the soft sound of the wind and buzzing of hummingbirds. For this series I used some soil to paint with for an authentic feel and look.
