The inspiration for this small series of paintings was the abundant appearance of maple seeds in the air and everywhere on the ground in spring. I am fascinated by the contrast of fragility and embodied power, of ingenious flight phase and patient rest and wait.
In this picture the seeds overcome the natural chaos and become abstracted and ordered. Delicate colors on translucent raw canvas emphasize the fragility of these entities and their elegance in the air.
The painting is signed on the back, wired and ready to hang.
