This painting was inspired by a dream I had of an eagle that was being released from captivity back into the wild. I vividly remember the bird flying away from me struggling to get airborne, faltering as it beat it wings frantically. At one point I thought it wouldn't make it, but luckily the side of the mountain sloped downwards and this gave the bird enough leeway to continue its ascent. I pondered about the dream afterwards and realised that the eagle was me.
