Although Lockdown has resumed in some parts of the UK, and Covid-19 continues to affect us, the shifting seasons have inspired me to look to the end of 2020 and potential, positive change. I feel new horizons are in sight and it's time to look forward.
This series features the space around my home in the Scottish Borders as the seasons change from autumn to winter, and also features some landscape from further afield in Scotland.
I have been deeply encouraged by the appreciative response to my Lockdown Series, and hope that these new works also bring you joy.

About this artwork:
Pastel is the most permanent of all media when applied to conservation ground and properly framed. Pastel has no liquid binder that may cause it to oxidize with the passage of time as oftentimes happens with other media.
Pastel paintings are raw pigments suspended on the surface - or, ’tooth’ - of the paper support. Thereby they have a certain degree of fragility. Each painting will be sprayed with fixative and loosely attached to a
conservation board, faced with removable acid-free tissue and inserted into a protective plastic
envelope for protection during transit/storage.
The surface of the painting should not be brushed or rubbed. Small amounts of pigment may appear on the protective tissue - this is normal. The painting should be framed behind glass so that the surface does not touch the glass - preferably using a ’slip’ or aperture mount using conservation board.
Locally, we can supply aperture mounts and even framing - both at an extra cost - but these cannot be shipped or posted.
