Message
I can imagine the Universe having an underlying, organizing structure that offers security, continuity, boundaries and safety. It is the Schema of my painting.
The story of my work is seeing beyond what appears to be. My work is meditative. The 50+ layers of beeswax, each fused with the low-flame of a torch reveal and underlying structure. It is this “Schema” of my painting. The webbing and lines intersect and organizedin a way that allows us to perceive and respond to life experiences with confidence.
We do not see this invisible Schema, the safety net that supports and protects us. Yet, we trustingly know it’s there. It is this faith in the Universal order that that encourages us to reach for the sky.
