I am drawn to the all-organic elements, the historical significance of this ancient and alchemic art form, and the importance of bees in Nature. I am drawn to its three-dimensional depth and dimension; and the luminous translucence of light reflecting off the surface. I did not realize that I was undertaking such a challenging medium as Encaustic.
