"Emeraude" is an original encaustic assemblage artwork created from hand-chosen Native Elements including Tule paper, carved bone, wax-cast brass, and glass-forged beads. Each element was attached with rawhide lacing and primitive hand-knotting methods to the encaustic artwork. Tule--pulp from a fig tree- is the 2000-year-old paper craft of Mexican artisans. The tree bark is boiled, soaked, pounded into fibers, smoothed flat, and sun-dried then carved into design.
Unframed.
