The Encaustic painting titled, "As Far As I Dare Go" in the Lay of the Land collection is inspired by the meeting place of land and sea where earth and water merge; the fleeting moment between time and space where one gives way to the other.

Fifty-plus layers of purified beeswax mixed with earth pigments and fir-tree sap damar are painted on custom-made Russian Baltic birch, then fused with the flame of a torch.
