KALMS, Nanoose Bay by Shelley Vanderbyl Image: Soothing scene in vintage medicine tin, oil on gessoed acid-free foam core, paint applied into tin, spilling onto sides of case, filling the tin with my time attention as I mentally inhabited the small space. Great care was taken to apply a scene with a high level of detail, to focus the brain’s automatic attention and assist in pain relief, to fascinate and allow directed attention to rest. A scene was chosen to evoke memory in hopes of furthering its effectiveness.
