Japanese Wood Paper

Japanese Wood Paper has the unmistakable look, feel and even the smell of natural wood. The unbleached, untreated sheets are semi-translucent with a silky-smooth surface.

Wood Paper is made by planing sheets from a single block of Japanese Red Pine, so the pattern of growth rings is continuous, varying only slightly from one page to the next.

Each block is sourced through surplus tree thinning, an ecological process that promotes healthy, sustainable forestry in Japan.

My artwork has been created using pen, ink markers and coloured pencil. Each piece has been sealed with a high quality varnish. It is recommended that Wood Paper artwork be kept away from high humidity areas as it may slightly warp the sheet.
