Hayes Lake is a small secluded lake in northern Saskatchewan. To get onto the water, my husband and I carry our canoe from the road down a narrow path that opens up to this pristine lake. We've seen bears along the shoreline, numerous varieties of water birds and brilliant yellow marsh marigolds but most of all we experience the quiet.
