I discovered an abandoned waterslide in Indiana while visiting my daughter. As I was walking up and down the eerily beautiful and heavily graffitied space, the waterslide felt like a metaphor for transition and change. Originally conceived as a fun summer adventure that was shut down a few years later (due to accidents on the 1970s concrete), it has become a collaborative art space that is inspiring and memorable. I painted two women I had photographed nto the scene; they appear almost levitating, alluding to a spiritual realm.
