"Underwater" is a series of ten 33x48 cm paintings made with acrylic paints on 400 gsm sheets.
It is my first series on foreign soil, made in Gothenburg between November 22, 2022 and February 1, 2023.
The series is the result of months spent, metaphorically, underwater:
I felt underwater to feel, to observe a new world, to hold my breath before swimming back to the surface to breathe again [.. ] there is something different from all the works I have made before, each piece is composed of a white frame, as if to define contours beyond which it is dangerous to lean out, contours of safety within which instead I wanted to experiment with the combination of different colors for each work and which bring back to forms and sensations that are sometimes familiar, others totally foreign and on the edge, as in a state of continuous evolution."
