"When a Tree Falls in the Woods" reflects on our perceptions of the journey into elderhood through the symbolism of the regenerative cycles of nature. As a tree matures, it remains vital to its ecosystem at every stage of life, even as it eventually returns to the earth.
The exterior of this piece is gilded with a brass alloy leaf that will age over many years. This effect is intentional to reflect the natural cycles of nature.
