"Eclipse" sculpted from honeycomb calcite (front view).
Inspired by a lunar eclipse, Scott created "Eclipse" from a gorgeous block of honeycomb calcite. Mined in Utah, this stone is a form of calcite that has a honeycomb appearance when polished. It also has a translucency to it that adds to the complexity of the stone and beauty of the sculpture. "Eclipse" has been placed atop a black marble base using a brass, Italian turning pin that allows the sculpture to be turned 360 degrees. A true beauty, when properly lit, this sculpture will provide endless hours of appreciation for nature's creativity and Scott's talent for revealing the potential within stone.
