These four 2.5 x 3.5 etching prints came about when I took my mini press outside and discovered what the average person would call weeds amidst the sidewalk cracks. I pulled a few, ran them through the press, creating etched marks on the plexiglass plate, and added some green swooshes, making them look more appealing.
The name "Devil Sparks" was inspired by one of the names people use for these grassy weeds you find between sidewalks and roadways, often nestled among trees. This name is 'Devil Strip'.
Definition of Devil Strip: This term is used to refer to the space between tracks on a streetcar line, which was too narrow to stand in when cars passed.
