Chris Robinson’s work involves the experiential investigation of contemporary science and technology as the prime impetus to the expansion of the art idea. The work manifests itself in learning drawings, document about experience, and sculptural installations. These activities have led to unique working relationships with the military, aerospace industry, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Wolf is one of a series of investigations of military aviation as a foundation study for art’s potential role in aerospace exploration. The series document experience, in part, by using the artist as a visual vehicle for empathetic association. Formally, Wolf was an experimental form of drawing involving electrographic overlays of manipulated photographic images. This process uses current, information industry technology as a means for informational art.

The mission of the South Carolina Arts Commission is to promote access to the arts and support the cultivation of creativity in South Carolina. We envision a South Carolina where the arts are valued and all people benefit from a variety of creative experiences.

A state agency created by the South Carolina General Assembly in 1967, the SCAC works to increase public participation in the arts through grants, direct programs, staff assistance and partnerships in artist development, arts industry, arts learning, creative placemaking, and folklife and traditional arts. Headquartered in Columbia, S.C., the SCAC is funded by the state of South Carolina, by the federal government through the National Endowment for the Arts, and other sources.
