In my work, and in particular, my drawings, I am engaged in a specific, personal examination of a human being. Each work becomes an attempt to fix this tangible and mortal presence within an imagined demarcation of space – a rectangular framework.
In this work, I am grappling with the elements of memory, imagination, and observation which I feel diverges and become incompatible in my work, especially the paintings. My objective is to have these divergent elements coalesce by force, discovery, or both, or work against each other in the extreme.
