Embellished with gold and silver studs, crackle medium, enamel paint, and a variety of other materials, “Take It Sleazy” captures a serpentine, animalistic aura, emboldened by the phrase, picked from one of the signatures in my dad’s high school yearbook from the 80s. Emerald green, silver, sepia, green-gray, and deep brown anchor this painting, while small peeks of brighter yellows and oranges lighten and add excitement and depth to the piece.
