Part III of the artist’s trio of self portraits, “Patrick Bateman’s Impulse Control” evokes the psychotic, calculated yet impulsive lead of Bret Easton Ellis’ American Psycho. A background the shade of brown leather (shared with “Charisma Like Bill Clinton”) shines through violent sepia ink splatters. Yellow ochre acrylic flung with a palette knife rests behind more sepia ink, and red ink fades out in gentle shadows, alluding to the violent happenings in American Psycho.
