Artist: Tammie Lane
With a BFA in art from her home state of Oklahoma, she has made her living painting oils, watercolors, and doing pottery since college. Living in Sweden as an exchange student was one of the highlights of her college experience. Her first job after college was with Hallmark as an illustrator in Kansas City, MO. Corporate life did not suit her very well, so she moved to Aspen and opened Lane Illustration working with an Illustration Rep working for many national clients.
After 25 years of juggling fine art and commercial work, she retired from commercial illustration. She travels to Plein Air Festivals around the country, with Easton Plein Air being one of her favorites. Lane was honored to be invited to the Govenor’s Show here in Colorado last year. She has shown her fine art in many juried shows, one man shows and galleries throughout the U.S.A. Lane has been shown with E.S. Lawrence Gallery, Taos and Aspen; Elliot Yeary Gallery, Aspen; The Jill Vickers Gallery in Las Vegas, Vail, and Aspen; The Driscol Gallery in Denver, CO; Gallery One in Las Vegas, Vail and Aspen; The Wild Horse Gallery, Steamboat Springs; JRB At the Elms Gallery, Oklahoma City; The Oklahoma Museum of Art, Okla. City; The Oklahoma Art Center, Okla. City; The Spiva Art Center, Joplin, MO; The Crown Center Art Center, Kansas City MO; The Oklahoma Pioneer Museum; The Art Center of Western Colorado, Grand Junction, and for pottery with Main Street Gallery, Carbondale; and Cooper Corner Gallery, Glenwood; and The Mad Potter, Salida Co. Lane’s large scale work has been used for multiple projects with the Colorado Public Works Awards. She has been invited to juried Plein Air Festivals and artist residencies around the country.
