This original oil painting was created en plein air at Vesper Meadow, a private conservation and restoration property in Southern Oregon. It shares a border with the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument and is breeding ground for the endangered Vesper Sparrow. Sarah Burns packed this painting into her french easel backpack and hiked half a mile or so in to make this painting in the fall of 2019. She worked on it for several sessions. Sarah has taught landscape painting classes and has created many paintings at Vesper Meadow.
The frame was created by Ashland furniture craftsman Jens Sehm. It is beech with a clear finish. It has been beautifully and durably constructed. The corners are miter joints with two splines.
The painting was created on linen mounted on hardboard, made by RayMar.
