“Am I Enough?” begs the viewer for hope: a dark red mass is surrounded by vermillion, like a hastily painted concrete wall. Silver peaks through underneath haphazard smears of white and splatters of yellow. “Are you uncomfortable?” / “Are you serious?” / “What more can I give you?” / “Does it matter?” / “Am I too much?” / “Am I enough?” begs the text, each letter painstakingly singular and separate from those around it. Slices in the canvas are like shots to the heart, held together by the paint that swiped straight through. Gold adornments surround the text; cupids, leaves, stars, etc. This is insecurity, loneliness, paranoia.
