Art as a reflection of society I understand, I respect, and I value so very highly. And no part of me denies its importance in shaping our histories and our futures, but are we all beret wearing artists, trying to present a provocative part of our lives to an unsuspecting audience? Yes, in fact. As I sit here writing it, of course it is. But it isn't the exclusive motivation to our creativity.
