A series of three tiles created from clay slabs, carved and impressed with original designs reflecting the artist’s observation of nature's textures and terrain. The tiles are bisque fired, hand-painted with underglazes, with the surface wiped off with a sponge, glaze trailed, and glaze dipped for a final kiln firing before being attached with a commercial glue to a painted black wood piece, wired with eye hooks for hanging. The tiles are created with Cone 6, mid-fire clay fired in oxidation to 2200ºF.
