ABOUT RESIN
This is created with Stone Coat Resin over the painting. The pieces can be used as wall art an/or taken down and used as a hot plate trivet up to 450*F degrees or coaster. To clean, do not immerse in water, but just wipe with a wet, squeezed out sponge. This piece serves to be both functional and beautiful.
ABOUT FLUID ART POUR PAINTING
This art involves applying paint in four layers on a commercial tile. These layers involve eggshell house paint as a "Pillow"; the "Pouring Medium" consisting of varnish, fine art acrylic paints in various colors and/or colored mica powdered pigments, and an untinted paint; the "Cell Activator" consisting of Australian Floetrol and Amsterdam (white or black) artist acrylic paint.
These layers are applied on the tile, then the cell activator is swiped or spun on these layers using a banding wheel to expand the design and produce cells. When used, the pigments create a luminescent or iridescent effect within the painting. After three weeks of drying, the piece is resined to bring back the vibrancy of color and give the painting a glass-like protective coating.
The tile is mounted with glue into a black, russet-red or dark brown wood frame. The frame is keyed to hang on a nail and has rubber corner pads to reduce movement.
